”I have always heard people say Japanese is a language that when you continued learning it would get more and more difficult and I also personally feel so. But the reward and the sense of achievement that you could get from stepping forward with this language are tremendous. After I had taken the first semester of Japanese classes, I passed through Tokyo during connection flight back home to China. Since the next flight was in the next morning, I had to take a shuttle bus from Narita Airport to the hotel and spent a night. I got up the courage and asked a worker outside airport which bus should I take to go to that hotel in the simplest Japanese I learned. Without any confusion about what I asked he understood my Japanese and replied to me. And without any confusion I understood his instructions. These interactions might sound very easy for someone who has studied for more than one year and even for me right now but I can still remember the excitement I felt like all the effort I made for learning this new language is worth it. This experience left a profound memory for me. Whenever I lose the motivation to study Japanese I tell myself there will be moment in the future when everything would worth it.”

Our Purpose

Our goal is to create a fun resource for our fellow Japanese students and for people who are interested in the language.  We noticed there weren't many places to read stories about learning Japanese in a traditional classroom setting or just casual student-written experience, so we decided to start a site where people can put and read various Japanese language-learning experiences all in one place!

So, if you are struggling with Japanese, motivation, or whether to continue studying or not maybe reading some of these stories will give you ideas or help with your decision!  Good Luck, and have fun with Japanese!
