I get asked this question a lot (why are you studying Japanese?). Before entering college, there were various technological inventions in Japan that seemed very interesting, and I thought it would be a good place to go for a Computer Science major, but during my time studying Japanese, I became more interested in the culture as a whole. Now, I want to go to Japan and perhaps even work there at a company involved with computers, such as Sony. Also, one more interesting thing that has come out of learning Japanese is that I can better understand anime, sometimes without even reading subtitles!
